Open Position - Sr Geologist

The experienced Geologist is responsible for prospect generation, regional mapping, business development, and asset planning. Specialties include operational geology, geologic data integration, horizontal well steering, field development, reservoir characterization, and software use.

 · Geologic interpretation and evaluation of clastic and carbonate depositional systems as related to new drilling prospect generation, operational support for development drilling and for Business Development support.

· Flexibility in supporting both engineering and geologic aspects of projects, as necessary.

· Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.

· Comply with regulatory requirements pertaining to the data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, and record compliance and retention.

· Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner.

· Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

· Solid understanding of data and ability to integrate all pertinent data into evaluations.

· Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, leadership, and client interaction/communication skills.

· Ability to establish respect, trust, and teamwork with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-disciplinary team.

· Willingness to mentor and develop other personnel.

· An achievement-oriented and highly motivated individual with a high degree of attention to detail

· Highly capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

· Proficiency with office automation and communication software, technology, and tools. 

· Developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and identify the most cost-effective responses that will minimize waste, prevent pollution, and conserve resources.

· MidCon and/or STACK/MERGE/SCOOP experience

· Extensive reservoir characterization experience

· Ops Geology experience

· Excellent management and supervisory skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Proficiency in Geographix (geology) is required and Kingdom (seismic) is highly preferred

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

· Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment

· Master’s Degree in Geology is required.

· 10 or more years of related experience in Oil & Gas operations is required.

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

· Able to travel as needed.

Required work location is Oklahoma City, OK or Denver, CO offices and is not eligible for remote work. Relocation benefits to Oklahoma City, OK or Denver, CO is available to eligible candidates.

Expected salary: $200,000 to $230,000 – commensurate with experience and work location.
